The A-Plus version of the 998 cc motor was produced from 1980–92.

Off the many makes of distributor found on classic cars the Lucas is among the most common. They are found principally on most British cars built up to the mid 80,s they include Leyland, Jaguar,Austin,Rover etc there were two main series: the 22D, 23D and 25D series; and the later 43D, 44D, 45D  and 59D series. Some type occurs in both 4 and 6 cylinder versions, indicated by the suffix D4 or D6. Within each series the 23 and 43 models differ most in that they are not fitted with vacuum advance systems, we can also supply the 23D and 43D which are built to order. 

 We can supply any 59D based distributor for your British car, these were mainly fitted with a set of points and condenser we can supply these, or we can supply with electronic ignition this proving to be more reliable with better starting and with improved fuel economy, we can supply these in negative or positive earth, we can also supply with side or top entry cap (4 Cly)

2 Year of car or engine and engine size in CC

3 What will the car be used for I.E normal road / fast road / Track day/ hill climb/ full racing spec.

4, Cap type, ( Side entry or top entry ) etc

Please give as much information as possible if you need the timing curve to a specification please let use know when ordering most of the time we don’t charge to change this unless we need to make new weights etc then a change of £25 per hour will be made, normally this can be done within a hour so allow £25
